FAQs

How do I apply for a rental property?

Once you’ve found a property you’re interested in, simply attend an inspection if required and submit your application with the requested supporting documents. Our team will review your application and keep you informed throughout the process.

What documents do I need when applying for a rental?

Most rental applications require proof of identity, proof of income, recent payslips or employment details, rental history and personal references. Providing complete and accurate information can help speed up the application process.

How can I stay updated on new rental listings?

Our available rental properties are updated regularly. Browse our latest Rental Properties or contact the Class Realty team if you’re looking for a specific type of property or suburb.

How much bond do I need to pay?

In NSW, a residential rental bond can generally be no more than four weeks’ rent. Rental Bonds Online provides a secure way to lodge and manage your bond through NSW Fair Trading. Our team will explain the required bond and payment process if your rental application is approved.

Can I keep pets in a rental property?

Tenants in NSW must generally obtain the landlord’s consent before keeping a pet in a rental property. Landlords can only refuse a pet request for certain permitted reasons and must respond within the required timeframe. If you’re applying for one of our rental properties with a pet, let our team know so we can guide you through the current application requirements.

How soon can I move into a rental property?

Move-in dates vary depending on the property’s availability and the completion of the application and lease process. Our team will confirm the earliest available commencement date once your application has been approved.

What happens after my rental application is approved?

Once approved, you’ll be contacted to arrange lease signing, payment of the bond and initial rent, along with key collection and your move-in date. We’ll guide you through each step to ensure a smooth transition into your new home.

Who do I contact if maintenance is required?

If you’re renting through Class Realty, simply contact our Property Management team to report maintenance issues. Urgent repairs will be prioritised in accordance with NSW tenancy requirements.

Can I end my lease early?

Ending a lease before the agreed expiry date may involve notice periods or other obligations depending on your tenancy agreement and current legislation. For more information, visit NSW Fair Trading – Renting a Home or speak with our property management team.
